Training Background - India, US & UK
I started my career in the field of animals by working as a volunteer and then as a Campaign Coordinator with an Animal NGO, In Defence of Animals, India. I learnt basic K9 training under Canines Can Care.
I got a wonderful opportunity to learn and train under Mr. John Rogerson of Northern Center for Canine Training and Behaviour, UK in the year 2003. I used to work with a mix Labrador female, Lycos. She was fast, alert and very playful. I trained for basic obedience with her. Together we attended working trails in Wales, and even passed a K9 Good Citizenship Test.
While in UK I volunteered at the famous Battersea Dogs Home in London to learn handeling dogs in a Kennel environment.
Between August-November 2006, I visited the US to learn Agility- a Dog Sport. I trained under Ms. Noriko Aso of Apex Agility Center, California. I worked with a Border Collie, Backette who is as fast as a rocket and always ready to go. Here I learnt the basics of Agility, course building, designing a course etc over a period of 3months.
During my visit to the US, I also got the opportunity to meet Mr. Ian and Ms. Kelly Dunbar, very well known personalities in the field of Dog Training all over the world, but especially in the US.
I am really grateful to Ms. Jill Marie of Los Angeles, USA who helped me through my years of training and even allowed me to train with her own dog.
"IDA INDIA is a project of IN DEFENSE OF ANIMALS (of the United States), and a Non-Government Organisation(NGO).
